So coolidge cut taxes and paid off one fourth of the national debt. Jefferson cut taxes too and paid off 1/3rd?

Coolidge also ignored many bad omens about economy and lead the US into the Great Depression. He’s just Glenn "crybaby" Beck’s new man crush.

And what was 1/3 of the National Debt when Jackson was President, 250 dollars? They weren’t fighting wars.
They weren’t policing the world.
They weren’t spending 40 billlion+ on drug wars
They weren’t over spending on the military, acting like they needed to buy 50X more than we’ll ever use for America to be safe.
They weren’t allowing businesses to move overseas and stash money in offshore accounts.
They weren’t funding R&D for security and arms companies.Ronald Reagan did too, and…and…with all the spending Bush did, his tax cuts kept us out of a recession until the housing market crash. Obama wants to enact a fuel tax to (ok try not to laugh) pay off the national dept. Seems to me, if he would just stop spending so much, that alone would go a long way.For one thing, as credit contracts, the money supply shrinks. The only stopping that shrinking is the Fed pumping liquidity into the system and fiscal stimulus.

There’s a time and a place for everything.
