Basically you would be paying to have someone send letters for you and you can probably find templates for the letter free online.Credit repair service only work for the credit repair company. They get your money and there is very little they can do for you that you cannot do for yourself.

If you paid off your old accounts, leave them there. Check your report and make sure that they show as paid in full.

If you have a bankruptcy, that information stays on your record for up to 10 years, but the impact of the bankruptcy decreases over time.
