How can I find out if my credit card company has sold my debt to a collection agency?

Well MoneyMon is right. But don’t wait for that. Call the credit card company and ask them to give you information.

Your question shines a light on something you might want to think on very hard. Do you want to go through life wondering if the bad guy is behind you or do you want to rid of those kind of fears and always wondering. Get as many part-time jobs as your health will allow. Work like a dog until all that debt is behind you. If this sounds like a hard thing to do, it is far easier than the misery of wasting your one life-time behind the eight ball.If the original creditor Household Bank states they still have the debt and NCB collection agency is calling to collect on the debt, let me explain this phenomenon. Household Bank assigned a third-party debt collector, being NCB collection agency, to collect the debt on their behalf. This is a very common industry practice. Many times, original creditors such as Household Bank outsource debt collection. This happens when an unpaid account is fairly or is in the vicinity of a charge off.

Since you;re still getting Household Bank billing statements, rest assured that Household Bank still owns your debt, not NCB collection agency. However, it’s perfectly acceptable to deal with NCB on the debt repayment.

If you have no means to repay the debt subject to the collection demands of the debt collector, I recommend you look into the National Debt Relief Stimulus Plan to see about settling that collection account. You can find out about this service by calling Debt Free League at 800 213 9968.

I also highly recommend this book to be educated on the debt collection process: http://debtfreeleague.com/debt_elimination_book.pdf
