You definitely need to stand your ground and make points that benefit you. Perhaps tell them you might think of switching credit card companies because they offered you a lower rate making it easier for you to get out of debt? It's all about attitude too.Straight out. Let them know you want to make amends but you can't pay all the extra fees that their company has piled on. If they won't budge, when it goes to collection the agency can knock off around 70% of the total debt.if yer having $$$ trouble, U CAN call & speak w/ yer creditors, TELL them yer situation, & what kinda hardship yer experiencing. c about getting yer pmts reduced. B POLITE!!! this workt 4 me & I'm on an affordable hardship plan. IF U speak 2 these ppl like human B'ns they R MORE than willing 2 bend over backwards 4 U IF yer SERIOUS about repayment. IF u ever come across a rough 1, try 2 remain calm & NOT lash out. reassure them of the facts & stick 2 it, never let them sway U in2 feeling guilty. I faced 1 of these situations & I was calm throughout the call & I got them 2 finally calm down & reason w/ me so I was able 2 talk some sense 2 them. calmness DOES pay IF yer REALLY sincere.
